Brolly repair kit...?

Thought I'd do a few close season repairs and fix the holes in the trusty 50" Steadfast wavelock Nubrolli. I assumed you could buy a repair kit for them, but Google's not being my friend here. Anybody seen 'em for sale or found an alternative/cheapskate way of performing lasting repairs?

Cheers

Hi OXO

Wavelock is basically PVC and I would have thought that a visit to your local aquatic supplier would see you purchasing a pond liner repair kit to do the job.... Alternatively, and possibly cheaper, would be a kids paddling pool repair kit from B&Q or somewhere similar. Hope this has given you some ideas for starters.

Good luck and regards

Pete

Hi again OXO
Just a word of caution when choosing which repair method to use............Many, many years ago a pal of mine tried to repair his wavelock brolly with a puncture repair kit and it peeled off after only a couple of trips. Reason was that a cycle repair kit is designed for rubber and not pvc as the adhesive used actually fuses or vulcanises the patch with the inner tube. On the other hand, pvc glue is actually a solvent adhesive , specially designed for pvc plastic material......Food for thought :!:

Cheers Pete

Ox,
Green Gaffa Tape!! has lasted on mine since about 2 days after I bought it (in the Badminton days??) to the present day.

I would have thought with your record, a roll of 100mph tape is must have in yer tackle box??

Much Love, M x

Cheeky Get

Mind you, to be fair I always carry a fire blanket after my "slight mishap" on Woodchester 3, involving a Chicken Jalfrezi, Coleman stove, a litre of 4 star and approx £2000 of melted carp gear - as you may recall...... ;)

ask your tackle dealer if he sells aqua sure. its an adhesive in a tube, simple instructions on back of the pack. ive used it many a time on my waders and never had a problem.
