N-Butyric to be precise, anyone tried it for Barbel?

Was always a favourite of mine (and the fish's) in my Carp baits when I made my own base-mixes, but was thinking of giving it a go in a Barbel bait for next season. Would imagine that it would compliment a meaty/cheesy/garlic base perfectly, although the Wife may not agree

Smells bad alright - bit like intense cheese and/or vomit.
Be careful - very very persistent and anti social smell.
But seems like an effective ingredient/additive for barbel.

Cheers

Cheers guys,

Cheesy vomit - good description! That or a pair of old sweaty trainers that the cat's used as a litter tray....

I've got a bottle in the fishing shed so I'm going to give it bash in my Barbel mix I recon. Thinking of a base mix with Blue Cheese Powder, Garlic Powder, Meat Meal and Belachan (Chinese Fermented Shrimp paste) with a spot of N-Butryric for good measure.

Not sure how effective it will be, but you'll have no problem identifying me on the banks next season
