Hey guys, newby here and yet to catch my first barbel. Will be fishing the Avoncliff/Freshford stretch and Limpley Stoke. Was just wondering whether anyone here has had anyluck using vitalin or pigeon conditioner as a barbel attractant?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Matt.......i've had succes with very finely ground down vitalin for carp method feeder fishing, it's a brilliant binder but you have to go easy with it because it sets like concrete if you use too much..
tried it for barbel mixing it with groundbait to give a heavy mix so it gets down quickly but very very limited success... wouldn't use it myself on the river again....it's a bit more expensive but the only groundbait i use in a feeder for barbel is dynamite marine halibut mix, now that works!...

Hi Barbelbloke,

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll leave the vitalin for my lake fishing! Have bought some Dynamite marine halibut method mix and will hopefully soon be gracing these boards with a pic of my first barbel!

Thanks again,

Matt
