Sweetcorn - Wonder bait no more?

Postby CabbagePatchKid » 04 Oct 2011 22:42

I remember well the time that THE bait to use for virtually all species was Sweetcorn.

Back in the late '70's it really was the "wonder" bait. trouble was, over the following decade it was flogged to death and (unsurprisingly) it's effectiveness greatly diminished. Sure, corn would always catch fish, but it no longer had the 'killer touch" it once possessed. Accordingly, it was no longer first choice for many. Indeed, I for one, didn't even carry corn in my tackle bag for years.

How do our Members rate corn nowadays? How many use it? If, so how successfully?

Or do we still rate it as a 'blown" bait?
